What is Golf Human Performance?

Golf human performance, or “golf fitness,” is a specialised approach to enhancing a golfer’s game by developing the physical qualities that directly impact the swing. The golf swing is a complex movement requiring coordinated effort from various muscle groups to move the club head effectively through impact and follow-through.

Through evidence-based physical training, movement optimisation and structured plans you can develop the "engine" behind your golf swing and improve performance on the course.

About COTT Coaching

Our Mission

We help golfers increase distance, improve movement, and boost long-term performance through personalised, science-based golf fitness coaching. Our mission is to improve golfers performance by offering expert guidance, structured programmes, and lasting coaching relationships that enable golfers to play better for a longer time.

With our dedicated online coaching community, in-person workshops, a custom training app, and current coaching methods, we give golfers the tools, knowledge, and confidence to change their game both on and off the course.

 Josh Cottingham, Golf Human Performance Coach, Sport & Exercise Science, BSc(Hons), CIMSPA

COTT Coaching was created to provide expert, science-based golf fitness coaching to golfers who want to hit the ball farther, move better, and play the game longer. With a background in Sport and Exercise Science and years of experience in the golf industry alongside PGA professionals, I developed a coaching system aimed at improving physical aspects of golf performance.

 

My approach combines a structured, personalised programme with clear guidance, ongoing communication, and modern coaching methods that fit into a busy lifestyle. Whether you train at home, in the gym, or with us at our training facilities, you'll have access to a dedicated training app, one-on-one support, and a coaching community that helps you progress week after week.

 

Through continued research and hands-on coaching, I create strength and conditioning programmes that focus on the key factors for better golf: speed, power, movement quality, injury prevention, and long-term athletic development. My goal is simple: to help golfers improve their performance, boost their confidence in their physical abilities, and enjoy the game at a higher level for years to come.
